Put Students First
- Meet every student where they are — whether they need extra support or extra challenges
- Restore academic options that were working well, like World History Honors for freshmen
- Keep phones out of classrooms so students can focus on learning
- Expand sports and activities so more students can participate
- Create a “student success dashboard” to track and improve engagement, participation, and achievement
- Support evidence-based programs that close skill gaps while maintaining high standards
Data-Driven Decisions
- Build detailed analysis of where our students are succeeding and struggling
- Create transparent metrics for measuring program effectiveness
- Track and publish data beyond test scores, including engagement levels in co-curricular activities
- Compare our performance against similar high-performing districts
- Use data to identify opportunity gaps between schools and develop targeted solutions
- Share more data directly with parents through an accessible online portal
Smart Financial Stewardship
- Audit programs regularly to ensure they deliver results worth their cost
- Reduce costly administrative processes that don’t directly benefit students
- Cut back on legal expenses by improving communication and transparency
- Direct more resources to classroom instruction and student support
- Partner with feeder districts to share costs and material resources and reduce redundancy
- Maintain strong reserves while investing in proven programs
Strengthen Our Community
- Host regular community forums to gather input on major decisions
- Build stronger partnerships between Central and South while preserving each school’s unique character
- Create better curricular coordination with feeder districts, including expectations on incoming freshmen’s standards-based skills
- Improve communication about board decisions and their rationale
- Support our principals in adapting district initiatives to their school’s needs
- Make board data and decisions more accessible to all community members

A Letter to Our Community

Me with Hippo and Buster Chomps
Dear District 86,
When my wife Michelle and I moved to Hinsdale in 1999, we were drawn by the promise of excellent schools and a strong community. Over the past 25 years, we’ve seen that promise fulfilled as we raised our three children, all proud graduates of District 86 (2019, 2021, and 2023).
Through my children’s experiences, I’ve witnessed both the strengths of our district and opportunities for growth. I’ve stayed deeply involved in our schools and community, from coaching youth sports to teaching religious education to officiating high school soccer matches. This involvement, combined with my professional experience in managing complex organizations and analyzing data, has prepared me to serve effectively on the school board.
I’m running because I believe in the potential of every student in our district. Working with Superintendent Lach and the board, we can enhance our schools while maintaining the high standards our community expects. We’ll do this by supporting our educators, making data-driven decisions, and ensuring every initiative puts students first.
In my professional life, I’ve learned that positive change happens when we combine clear goals, measurable outcomes, and genuine care for people. That’s the approach I’ll bring to the board — along with a commitment to listen to all voices in our community and to be a responsible steward of our resources.
I look forward to earning your trust and your vote.
Sincerely,
Bobby Fischer
